Million Pennies for Michaela

While a million pennies will help Michaela, she still has a long way to go. So long as there are generous individuals and groups out there who are willing to help, I will continue to collect.

The Cambridge Times has finally published my article about the Million Penny Project, albeit eight weeks after I sent it in. As I said, I will keep collecting. Who knows? Maybe we reach two million pennies?

Let's put it into perspective: The family needs between $500,000 and $700,000 for treatments for Michaela. A million pennies is $10,000--a mere 2 per cent of the lower end of the estimate. Plus take into account that the aforementioned amounts are in U.S. funds. You see what I mean: Michaela really needs your help!

If you are located in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge-Guelph-Hamilton-Stoney Creek-Burlington-Oakville-Mississauga-Brampton area, I would be more than happy to arrange a pick up of your contribution. Please email me at anton@crolinks.com, or call me in Cambridge at 519-658-6115.

Thank you for your support of the Million Penny Project, and for the help for Michaela Kameka!!

To date, I've exchanged at the bank...

1424 rolls of pennies (50 to a roll, that's over $700!)
94 rolls of nickels (40 to a roll)
103 rolls of dimes (50 to a roll)
37 rolls of quarters (40 to a roll)
8 rolls of loonies (25 to a roll)
10 rolls of toonies (25 to a roll)

And that's it! I've cleared all the rolls off my desk. Thank you for your contributions and support of this project!
And many thanks to my colleagues in the Business Workroom at St. Benedict for helping count and roll all these coins!
A HUGE thank you to the staff at the Saginaw Square Scotia Bank for handling over 1500 rolls of coins for me!!

* NOTE: You don't need to have a PayPal account to use the service, all you need is a credit card. If you make a contribution using PayPal, please email us at pennies@crolinks.com so we can keep track of the progress of the project.
